Chia Hsin Cement Corporation (CHC) has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, marking the tenth consecutive year of sustainability reporting. Building on its 70-year legacy, CHC continues to embed sustainability into its long-term development. Under the theme “Building Resilience for Sustainability,” the report highlights the Group’s progress across three key areas: transparent governance, environmental collaboration, and talent empowerment.
Amid evolving geopolitical and economic conditions, climate change, carbon pricing, and workforce challenges, CHC continues to strengthen its resilience through business diversification and operational improvements. Today, the Group’s portfolio spans cement, warehousing and storage, property management, hospitality.
Advancing the Low-Carbon Transition
On the environmental front, CHC continues to advance its low-carbon transition. In response to Taiwan’s carbon pricing scheme, the Group is expanding its use of Portland limestone cement and leveraging its port logistics capabilities to develop a distribution hub for low-carbon cement. CHC’s emissions reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), with a commitment to reduce emissions by 42% by 2030 from its base year. The Group also plans to bring a solar photovoltaic system online in 2028.
CHC has also continued to improve the environmental performance of the nearly 60-year-old Chia Hsin Building in Taipei through equipment upgrades and energy management. The building has received Taiwan’s EEWH-EB Diamond Level and EEWH-BERSe Level 1+ certification, and received an Excellence Award in the industry category of the Ministry of the Interior’s Nearly Zero-Carbon Building Design Awards.
Building an Inclusive Workplace
CHC’s commitment to its people was recognized in 2025 with its first HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia award. The Group also continued to receive recognition from CommonWealth Magazine’s Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility Citizenship, the CommonWealth Talent Sustainability Awards, and the CommonWealth Parenting Family-Friendly Workplace Awards. Women now account for 39.82% of management positions, reflecting CHC’s continued efforts to foster talent development, employee well-being, and an inclusive workplace.
Creating Positive Impact Across Our Businesses
Across its businesses, CHC continues to integrate sustainability into daily operations. Hotel Collective in Okinawa has achieved LEED certification and maintains a 9.2 guest rating on Booking.com. The Chia Hsin Foundation continues to advance community initiatives, including the Beaver Project for Sustainable Education and the Positive Adult Mentorship Program. With cumulative donations exceeding NT$330 million, the Foundation continues to uphold CHC’s longstanding principle of “Taken from the community, giving back to society.”
Looking ahead, CHC will continue to focus on low-carbon transition, data-driven management, quality enhancement, and organizational resilience.
