Sustainability is a long-term commitment at Chia Hsin Cement Group.
Following the achievement of Taiwan’s highest green building honors in 2025—EEWH-EB Diamond Certification and EEWH-BERSe Level 1+ Energy Efficiency Certification—CHC Headquarters has now been awarded LEED v4 ID+C: Commercial Gold Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The certification recognizes the Company’s continued commitment to sustainable building management, low-carbon operations, and healthier workplaces environments.
The achievement demonstrates that a nearly 60-year-old building can continue to meet today’s rigorous environmental and energy performance standards through forward-looking planning, ongoing management, and continuous efficiency improvements, while supporting Taiwan’s Nearly Zero-Energy Building goals.
For CHC, sustainability goes beyond environmental performance. It is about creating spaces where people can work in a healthy, safe, and comfortable environment while coexisting harmoniously with both people and the enviroment around them.
The LEED Gold certification reflects strong performance across four key areas:
- Healthy Indoor Environment
Employee well-being is central to CHC’s workplace strategy. The building maintains a smoke-free environment and incorporates advanced indoor air quality measures, including entryway dust control, MERV 13 air filtration for outdoor air intake, and continuous carbon dioxide and indoor air quality monitoring to provide a healthier and more comfortable workplace.
- Supporting Low-Carbon Mobility
Located within 400 meters of MRT stations, bus stops, and YouBike facilities, the headquarters encourages the use of public transportation and active mobility, helping reduce commuting-related carbon emissions while strengthening connections with the surrounding community.
- Improving Water Efficiency
High-efficiency water-saving fixtures have reduced daily water consumption by approximately 40% compared with the baseline, improving resource efficiency and reducing environmental impact.
- Enhancing Energy Performance through Smart Management
Building optimization and energy management initiatives have improved overall energy efficiency by approximately 14%. An advanced energy monitoring system also enables real-time tracking of major equipment, supporting continuous energy optimization and low-carbon operations.

From achieving Taiwan’s highest green building certifications to earning internationally recognized LEED Gold certification, CHC continues to demonstrate that buildings are more than physical assets—they embody corporate values and reflect the Company’s commitment to integrating ESG principles into asset management and daily operations.
Looking ahead, CHC will continue to strengthen sustainable asset management in line with international standards, embedding sustainability into everyday operations while advancing its corporate vision of Pursuing Quality of Life.
